COOLING FOODS 4 THE SUMMER.....

IN THE PIC ARE  'SABJA SEEDS.'.

COOLING FOODS 4 THE SUMMER..
In the summer months the environment is filled
with heat and energy. So we need the healthy
summer foods as  the heat outside is increasing,
then increase intake of cooling foods.
Like the Barley water that  has ahuge reputation
of being a cooler of internal heat.
The ' thumb rule'  is very simple, if  in doubt about
any food, throw it out.
This means if something doesn't taste fresh, the milk
seems sour, or the date has expired on a food product,
throw it away rather than take a  chance.
In the  summer's  the  vegetarian food is best to
prevent your body from heating up.
Also try to  eat  food at room temperature.
Eat fully ripe sweet fruits like mango, cherries,
avocados & watermelon are good to cool your body.
Eat more of the green leafy vegetables, cabbage,
lettuce, cucumber, pumpkin & beans.
Even Celery and cucumber are cooling foods for the body.
If you drink their juice, it will lower your body temperature.
Even increase the intake of milk & white butter as they help
in reducing heat from the body.
The best known substance that reduces body heat is
Sabja seeds, also called as 'Tukmaria'. They are popular
by the name of '  Falooda seeds' which are known variously
as sabza, subza, takmaria, tukmaria, selasih . Sabja or
Tukmaria are called basil seeds in English.
They are the tiny black seeds which swell when soaked
in water. When soaked in water, the seeds of several basil varieties become gelatinous, and are used in Asian drinks
and desserts such as falooda or sherbet.
Sabja seeds are soaked in water for sometime and added
to milk with rose syrup. This drink is called 'Falooda '
and it cools down your system instantly.
These seeds cools the body in summer.
They are very good for digestion in a hot climate.
They are used for their medicinal properties in Ayurveda.
The falooda seeds should be firm and without any stone
or debris or dust.
Sabja seeds or falooda seeds are taken in sherbets as
they produce a cooling sensation within the stomach.
Sabja reduces the nauseous feeling and controls vomiting
also.
