Lime & Lemon


The lime is a bright green fruit, similar to a lemon, except rounder and more acidic with a thinner rind. Limes (Citrus aurantifolia) are the fruit of tropical citrus tree closely related to lemons. 
Lime is a term referring to a citrus fruit which is typically round, green in color, 3–6 cm in diameter, and containing sour and acidic pulp. Limes are a good source of vitamin C, and are often used to accent the flavors of foods and beverages. They are grown all year round and are usually smaller and less sour than lemons. Limes are believed to have originated in India or Malaysia.
Limes and lemons are both citrus fruits rich in Vitamin C. i.e 
Lemons and limes are an excellent source of vitamin C, one of the most important antioxidants in nature. 
Lemons are yellow and limes are green. Limes are smaller than lemons.
Lime
juice may be squeezed from fresh limes, or purchased in bottles in both unsweetened and sweetened varieties.
In cooking, lime is valued both for the acidity of its juice and the floral aroma of its zest. Lime is an essential ingredient of any cuisine from India, and many varieties of pickles are made, e.g. sweetened lime pickle, salted pickle, and lime chutney. Lime juice can be used to marinate fish or meat, adding a tangy flavor. Limes are also used as garnish. Limes have a number of uses.
Limes may be stored at room temperature or in the refrigerator for two to three weeks. Lime juice will store in the refrigerator for several weeks. Choose lemons that are heavy for their size. Choose limes that have a glossy skin also that is deep green in color.
