what is cooking..

Cooking is the process of preparing food
by use of heat. Some scientists believe the advent of cooking played an important role
in human evolution.
Most anthropologists believe that cooking
fires first developed around 250,000 years ago. Most ingredients in cooking are derived from living things. Vegetables, fruits, grains
and nuts come from plants, while meat,
eggs, and dairy products come from animals. Mushrooms and the yeast used in baking are kinds of fungi and Cooks also utilize water and minerals such as salt. Cooks can also use wine,
an alcohol-based liquid from the fermentation
of juices of grapes or other fruits.
There are  many methods of cooking, most
of which have been known since antiquity.
These include baking, roasting, frying, grilling, barbecuing, smoking, boiling, steaming
and braising. A more recent innovation is microwaving.
Although cooking has traditionally been a process carried out informally at home
but now cooking is often, and increasingly, carried outside the home.

A tip : When cooking for 1 or 2 , most recipes can be reduced by cutting the ingredients in half. ( quantity wise )..

SOME TIPS..

FIVE SPICE POWDER
1 tsp. Ground cinnamon, 1 tsp. Ground cloves,
1 tsp. Fennel seed, 1 tsp. Star anise, 1 tsp. peppercorns .
This mixture will give a lovely five spice powder.
TIP:
Use herbs and spices by grinding the whole spices in a grinder or mortar or pestle just prior to using. Roasting the spices in a pan over medium heat before grinding will bring out more flavor...
TIP 4 the day : Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes before using them so they won't burn during cooking.
