WHY EAT THE PRUNES....

WHY EAT THE PRUNES
Prunes are the dried European plums . The Plums are
picked n dried  in the sun but now  in the factories they
are dried by the method of ‘dehydrators’. Prunes are
sweet with a deep taste and are sticky chewy in texture.
The  Prunes are a good source of vitamin A, Potassium
and also high in’ phytonutrients’.
The ‘phytonutrients’ in prunes and plums are classified
as phenols, and function as antioxidants and help protect
against blood pressure.
Prunes are rich in  soluble fiber that  help  normalize blood sugar levels by delaying absorption of glucose after a meal. Prunes have the ability to prevent constipation and also have
the ability  to make iron more available to the body.
Eating  prunes  helps lower cholesterol, fight heart disease,
also control diabetes and  osteoporosis.
Fruits richest in fiber  apples, dates, figs, pears and prunes.
Prunes are sold either with their pits or already pitted.
Buy prunes that look plump, shiny and soft.
Soaking the Prunes in hot water for a few minutes will
refresh them.
