Safed Vatana refers to dried white peas.
A legume that are in dried form also known
as peas or white vatana are the perfect choice
as they are available any time of the year.
They belong to the same family as beans and lentils,
the dried peas are available in deep green color n also available in a yellowish white (safed) color.
These peas need to be soaked in water for at least
six- eight hours, then usually pressure cooked.
