Summer is a time to enjoy being outdoors,
but when it's hot, your body needs some
extra things to keep you going.
When you think of summer, what do you think of?
Barbeques, swimming, vacations and having fun
with kids. But it is important to drink water in
hot weather. Your body needs to stay hydrated.
If you eat a salty snack along with it, your body
is more likely to hold onto the water instead of
sending it straight through you.
Heat stroke occurs when the body is exposed
to an excessive amount of heat and becomes
unable dissipate the heat through sweating.
When heat stroke happens, the body’s
temperature rises rapidly, the body loses
its ability to sweat, and it is unable to cool down.
Let's say that it really is 100 degrees F outside.
The human body wants to stay at 98.6 degrees F.
The only way to stay at 98.6 is to sweat. By putting
moisture on the skin and letting it evaporate, your body
can cool itself very effectively and keep its temperature
in the proper range.
Avoid excessive heat and its impact on your body
by taking care of few tips..
Drink cool, non-alcoholic, non-caffeinated beverages.
tip : It's best to avoid extremely cold liquids because
they can cause stomach cramps.
Drink water regularly throughout the day,
even if you don't feel thirsty.
Wear lightweight clothing.
If possible, remain indoors during the
hottest parts of the day.
EAT THE WATERMELON..
This is my absolute favorite summer food,
especially if it's a traditional watermelon
with seeds. Best chilled watermelon is
sweet and delicious and refreshing.
Another great summer fruit,
oranges provide a lot of hydration.
On a hot day, make sure to bring your
yogurt in a cooler.
With summer time here, it is a good time
to think about food safety as well.
It is very important to keep cold
foods cold and hot foods hot. ....... cont....
