what is ' Gajak '
A form of 'Fudge', commonly made with sesame seeds.
Til Ka Gajak is made especially made during the cold north Indian winter months since til (sesame) is believed to have warming properties.
What is Chikki (Nut Brittle)?
In the olden days, Shakar, also called as Cane sugar was put in a heavy iron Karahi, it is the Indian wok. The Shakar was melted, and the nuts were added. Cooking was continued to get a suitable crystal formation to get a nutty brittle type form.
In India, desert is specially defined with sweets like Gajak, Petha sweet, Rewri, Gulab Ladoo, Gajak Sugar Roll, Groundnut Chikki and many more.
Gajak is the best sweet for winter season.
Gajak is a traditional kind of sweet which are made of sesame seeds or in India it is known as Til.
Gajak is available in numbers of varieties which are Elaichi Gajak, Gajak Gur Patti, Gajak Gur Roll, Gajak Gur Samosa, Gajak Sugar Patti, Gajak Sugar Roll, Gudd Gajak and lots more.
Gajak is good for health as well.
Like the gajak, Rewri is also a type of toffee which is entirely made with sesame seeds. In winter season, Rewri is one of the most consumed sweet. It is a sweet of winter, like gajak.
In other words, Gajak is a dry sweet, which is very popular in India. Usually Gajak consists of almonds, peanuts, walnuts and cashew nuts, boiled in sugar syrup and then set in thin layers and cut into pieces.
Gajak can be stored for a long period of time.
