 Importance of Types of Knives Needed in Any kitchen.
  "Knives are the best friends of a cook”.
There are numerous types of kitchen knives, each with their own purpose and design.

 Knives are kitchen cutlery, no kitchen task would be complete without   the knives..   knives makes cutting easy.
The Chef's Knife:
A chef's knife is an all-purpose knife.
 It is used for chopping, mincing and slicing.
 The blade is generally 8 to 14 inches long.
 It is a deep, solid and thin towards the point.

The paring knife is a shorter knife, has it two-four inch blade.
This knife used to trim vegetables and fruits. It is a small knife
with a thin and narrow blade.

 A Boning knife is to separate uncooked meat cleanly from the bone.
The blade is about 6 inches long with a pointed tip.

Slicing Knife or the Carving knife has thin edge blade
for carving poultry, fish, etc. The carving knife is also called
‘slicer’.

The Cleaver knife has a wide blade to cut through bones
and joints of the meat. It is also used to crush garlic.


Serrated Knife
This is a scalloped edge knife used to slice bread. The scalloped teeth looks like
the ‘saw’ type notches.

THE MINCING KNIFE IS TO CUT TO SMALLER PIECES, THIS COULD BE
OF SINGLE OR DOUBLE BLADE.

THE CHEESE KNIFE IS TO CUT DIFFERENT TYPES OF CHEESE.

THE PIZZA KNIFE IS ALSO CALLED ‘PIZZA CUTTER’, IT IS A CIRCULAR KNIFE
THAT IS USED TO CUT PIZZAS.
