The Tomato is the world’s most popular fruit. And yes, just like the Brinjal and the Pumpkin, botanically speaking it is a fruit, not a vegetable.
The French called it “the apple of love,” the Germans “the apple of paradise.”
A fruit is the edible part of the plant that contains the seeds, while a vegetable is the edible stems, leaves, and roots of the plant.

Drink water and other h...ealthy beverages, and limit sugary drinks and salt. Most important of all is keeping calories in check, so you can avoid weight gain, which makes exercise a key partner to a healthy diet.
Healthy Eating: Ten Nutrition Tips for Eating Right.
1 Choose good carbs, not no carbs. Whole grains are your best bet. Good carbs from whole grains, vegetables, fruit, and beans.
They provide the body with fuel it needs for physical activity and for proper organ function, and they are an important part of a healthy diet.

3 Choose foods with healthy fats, limit foods high in saturated fat, and avoid foods with trans fat. What really matters is the type of fat you eat.
Use liquid plant oils for cooking and baking. Olive, canola, and other plant-based oils are rich in heart-healthy. Ditch the trans fat.
4 Choose a fiber-filled diet, rich in whole grains, vegetables, and fruits. Go with whole fruit instead of juice. Break the fast with fruit.
5 Eat more vegetables and fruits. Go for color and choose the dark green, yellow, orange, and red.

The body is both a temple and a perfect machine, and our bodies have within them a healing potential stronger than any drug or treatment, and we nourish it with the pure and simple foods found in nature.

What you eat literally becomes YOU.
Choose wisely.
You are what u eat . .. means
to be fit and healthy & to eat good food.Every 35 days your skin replaces it self...
Your liver every month...
Your body makes new cells ...
Form what u EAT...
What u eat literally becomes u ...
You have a choice in what u are made of .. .
"Ninety per cent of the diseases known to man are
  caused by cheap foodstuffs.
  You are what you eat."
What is it:
"Kombucha is alternately known as a Chinese tea, a plant, or a mushroom. But it's not really any of these. It's a living culture of beneficial microorganisms, and in Kombucha's case, the whole is infinitely greater than the sum of its parts!

It is fermented for 30 days. During this period, essential nutrients form like active enzymes, viable probiotics, amino acids, antioxidants and polyphenols. All of these combine to create an elixir that immediately works with the body to restore balance and vitality. Kombucha has been used for hundreds of years throughout the world as a daily health tonic. The culture resembles a light brown, tough, gelatinous disk and because it's a living, growing entity, it can regenerate and create new cultures with every batch."
What Can it do for you:
"Kombucha is not a supplement, drug, or medicine.

It is simply a super healthy food that helps the body to find
(or regain) its natural balance in the body, which promotes overall well being. Just like regular exercise, Kombucha is something that supports a healthy lifestyle.
When the body is healthier, its natural defenses are stronger.
Kombucha has an “adaptogenic” ability that gives it a reputation for its widespread health properties. Its adaptogen effect is seen mostly through its influence on the liver, the blood and the digestive system, where it normalizes the acidity or pH. Metabolic balancing and detoxification is perhaps the most important function of Kombucha." To put it in simple terms, Kombucha will make you feel good.

WHAT IS ' Kombucha ' ?

Kombucha ' detoxifies the body and energizes the mind' . . .
WHAT IS ' Kombucha ' ?
Kombucha is a fermented tea that is often drunk for medicinal purposes. It is an effervescent fermentation of sweetened tea that is used as a functional food.
Kombucha originated in Northeast China or Manchuria and later spread to Russia and the rest of the world.
The first recorded use of kombucha comes from China in 221 BC during the Tsin Dynasty.
It was known as “The Tea of Immortality”.
Kombucha contains multiple species of yeast and bacteria along with the organic acids, active enzymes, amino acids, and polyphenols produced by these microbes.
Kombucha is typically produced by placing a culture in a sweetened tea, as sugars are necessary for fermentation.
Black tea is a popular choice, but green tea, white tea and yerba mate may also be used. Blending of tea may produce more balanced flavors and benefits.
The result can taste like something between sparkling apple cider and champagne, depending on what kind of tea has been used.
A new term to think about .. .
The science of fermentation is known as zymology.

Garlic Is As Good As Ten Mothers

Garlic Is As Good As Ten Mothers is a documentary film about garlic directed by Les Blank. In 2004, the film was selected for preservation in the United States’ National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.”
Garlic Is As Good As Ten Mothers (1980), this lip-smacking foray into the history, consumption, cultivation and culinary/curative powers of the stinking rose features chef Alice Waters of Chez Panisse, and a flavorful musical soundtrack.
Not only does the film promote garlic as our first line of defense against all forms of blandness; it also titillates the taste buds with shots of garlic dishes sizzling in their pans. Les Blank shows again that he knows how to have a good time and share it on film especially if it involves food!
At the end of 2004 'Garlic' was one of 25 films, selected by The Library Of Congress, to be added to the National Film Registry list of now 400 motion pictures.
DO U KNOW WHY ' GARLIC ' IS CALLED THE. . . stinking rose.
Garlic is known universally as the stinking rose, the term reportedly going back to Greek and Roman times. But why? The "stinking" part is obvious, but why "rose"?
Garlic is an allium which is part of the Liliaceae family. Garlic is closer to a lily than a rose.
The ancient Greek name for garlic was scorodon.
Poor, innocent garlic is the victim of a love/hate relationship throughout history.
When one person wrinkles his nose up at the mere thought of consuming an offensive smelling food like garlic, others praise its mystical healing powers.
While garlic festivals are celebrated all across the U.S. and Canada, the grandest of them all is the Gilroy Garlic Festival held the last weekend in July in Gilroy, California, the "Garlic Capital of the World."
When raw garlic is cut, broken, or chewed, the "fragrant" allicin releases its powerful essential oil. When cooked, garlic loses its strong odor because the enzyme allinase is destroyed, preventing its conversion to the smelly allicin.
Because the enzymatic action is so important in garlic's therapeutic value, the herb is consumed either in its raw state or in the form of garlic extract.
Chewing parsley and sunflower seeds may help a little, but won't quite cover up garlic breath.
Some odorless garlic pills may help.

Coffee and few amazing flavors .. .Some are so exotic, sweet and strong flavored.

Coffee is a slightly acidic brewed beverage with a strong flavor prepared from the roasted seeds of the coffee plant. The beans are found in coffee cherries, which grow on trees.
Coffee can have a stimulating effect on humans due to its caffeine content. It is one of the most-consumed beverages in the world.
The earliest evidence of coffee drinking appears in the middle of the 15th century in the Sufi shrines of Yemen. From the Muslim world, coffee consumption and cultivation spread to India, to Italy, and on to the rest of Europe, Indonesia and the Americas.
Once brewed, coffee may be served in a variety of ways. Drip-brewed, percolated, or French-pressed/cafetiere coffee may be served as white coffee with a dairy product such as milk or cream, or dairy substitute, or as black coffee with no such addition. It may be sweetened with sugar or artificial sweetener. When served cold, it is called iced coffee
Iced coffees is a regular coffee served with ice, sometimes with milk .
Espresso coffee is the most basic form which is served alone as a shot or with hot water added, known as Caffè Americano.
When milk is added to various forms of espresso, i.e steamed milk it is a caffe latte, and if equal parts steamed milk and milk froth make a cappuccino.
Now a days the flavored coffees have become so popular in few decades now, and seem to be getting more and more popular. The Hazelnut and Vanilla flavored coffees are popular variety.
Have u heard of these amazing flavors of coffees...
Cherries Jubilee Flavored Coffee, Cappuccino Cream Flavored Coffee, Caramel Honey Flavored Coffee, Chocolate Almond Flavored Coffee, Chocolate Raspberry Flavored Coffee, Cinnamon Blueberry Flavored Coffee, Coconut Rum Flavored Coffee, Cupid's Kiss Flavored Coffee.
What is gourmet flavored coffee?
When different flavors are added to the coffee after it has been roasted.
Have u ever tried flavoring the coffee beans,  if the coffee beans are stored with few vanilla pods.
The coffee beans tend to absorb the vanilla flavor. Also try adding scrapes of cinnamon.
For adding flavors to the coffee, try grinding the beans with scrape of vanilla, cinnamon or orange peel
or lemon peel or nutmeg.
Always store the coffee in a covered and a air tight jar in the refrigerator.
Try making chocolate flavored coffee by using chocolate powder as chocolate is the most common flavor.

Baked beans

Baked beans is a dish containing beans, sometimes baked but, usually stewed, in a sauce.
Most commercial canned baked beans are made from
haricot beans, also known as navy beans in a sauce packed in a tin.
Did u know . . .
The beans used to make baked beans are native to North America and were introduced to Italy in 1528 and to France by 1547.
In Ireland and the United Kingdom, a tomato and sugar sauce is most commonly used. They are commonly eaten on toast or as part of a f...ull English breakfast.
In the UK and Ireland, the term baked beans refers almost exclusively to canned beans in a tomato sauce.
Heinz Baked Beans were first sold in the UK in 1886 in the upmarket.
In the United States, B&M (Burnham & Morrill Inc.) and B&M specializes in Boston style baked beans often sold in beanpot shaped jars, and canned brown bread,
In the United States there are multiple styles.
In Boston baked beans are used in a sauce prepared with molasses and salt pork, the popularity of which has led to the city being nicknamed "Beantown".
Beans in a tomato and brown sugar, sugar or corn syrup sauce are a widely available type throughout the US. Maine and Quebec style beans often use maple syrup.
In Iran, Loubia Garm (Hot Beans) is prepared using beans in a tomato sauce, often served in winter on stalls in streets.
In New Zealand, Wattie's Baked Beans are considered a cultural icon.
Baked Beans have become a traditional food for New Zealanders.
A “full English breakfast” is usually expected to include baked beans in it and most likely, baked beans on toast.
The British Dietetic Association recommends baked beans as a preventative to heart disease. There is added sugar and the canning process takes away some health factor from baked beans, but the beans are high in fiber and low in fat.
Research done in the USA found that the nutrients found in many vegetables, fruits and red wine are also found in the skin of beans.
The reason beans are so healthy is that they contain antioxidants. All beans are good for us.
Not only are they low in fat, they are also full of protein and fiber.
They also provide important vitamins and minerals, including iron, folic acid, zinc and potassium.
Baked beans have been family favorite for years.

The seeds are used in the preparation of pickles, vegetable dishes, daals, and spice mixes, such as panch phoron and sambar powder.
Fenugreek seeds are used both whole and in powdered form and are often roasted to reduce their bitterness and enhance their flavor.
Fenugreek is also used as a vegetable. Fresh fenugreek leaves are an ingredient in some Indian curries.
