American Food Holidays . ..
On Almost Every Day of the Year, There’s Something To Celebrate.
Food holidays are daily observances that's held in honor of a certain food. Did you know that each month in our calendar 

has food that represent it? It sure does! Just about every day
in every month is a celebrated Food Holiday. Each month is a national food month, some weeks are national food weeks and most all days are daily food observances too.
The United States is known for observing food holidays promoted by clubs, food organizations and health organizations.
Even though most food holidays originated in the United States, it's not uncommon for these holidays and others to be celebrated in other parts of the world.
June 2 is ' National Rocky Road Ice Cream Day '.
In Italy holidays are celebrated with food. The Italians love to eat and feed others and hence each national holiday is taken as an excuse to indulge into some of the finest dishes of the Italian cuisine.

1880s-1930s: When the term "milkshake" was first used in print in 1885, milkshakes were an alcoholic whiskey drink that has been described as a "sturdy, healthful eggnog type of drink, with eggs, whiskey, etc., served as a tonic as well as a treat". 

By 1900, the term referred to "wholesome drinks made with chocolate, strawberry, or vanilla syrups."
"A milkshake is a sweet, cold beverage which is made from milk, ice cream or iced milk, and flavorings or sweeteners such as fruit syrup or chocolate sauce. Milkshakes are usually served in a tall glass with a straw, and whipped cream may be added as a topping. Several popular milkshake flavors include vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry.

In Western culture dessert is a course that typically comes at the end of a meal, usually consisting of sweet food. But during the month of August dessert lovers everywhere are given the go ahead to eat our desserts first and not feel bad about doing it. That's right August celebrates the sweet tooth.
