kurmura, murmura or mumra..

 
What is kurmura..
Kurmura also known as Murmura or Mumra is puffed up rice.' Bhel-puri  is made of kurmura or puffed rice, sev, puri and two kinds of chutneys, the spicy one and sweet, also add cut boiled potatoes and onion.
Murmura, Kurmura, Borugulu, Churmuri, then the famous jhaal muri of kolkatta are various names of kurmura.
There are numerous recipes for Jhaal Muri, a delicious Bengali (east Indian) snack! It can be thrown together in a few minutes and makes a terrific light lunch or evening snack found at every corner of kolkatta, if one happens to be there.
make the tasty jhaal muri...
a basic jhaal muri powder recipe..
Dry roast 3 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp coriander seeds
2 whole red chillies.
Roast, Cool and grind together to get a powder…

mix the tasty jhaal muri..
1 cup kurmura,
2 tbsp channa roasted ones,
2 tbsp roasted peanuts,
2 tbsp sev,
2 tbsp coconut thinly cut, fresh,
A small piece cut green chilly,
2 tbsp finely cut onion,
few drops of mustard oil,
few drops of mango pickle oil,
2 tbsp jhaal muri powder.
salt to taste.
mix all together, serve with a garnish of coriander leaves..
