The Grand Opulence Sundae . . .

The Grand Opulence Sundae . . .
New York's Serendipity restaurant created a "Grand Opulence" sundae on its 50th anniversary. At Serendipity in New York City, you can rub shoulders with celebrities while enjoying gourmet burgers.
This luxury worth $1000 marks all gold. But Boing Boing report that the most expensive ingredients went into the making of this most expensive sundae.
'We produced the Grand Opulence to celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2005,' said Joe Calderone. 'All profits from this dessert would go to children's charities in New York.
The base of this dessert contained 5 generous scoops of the premium Vanilla ice-cream made with a blend of Tahitian Vanilla beans and Madagascar Vanilla. The scoops are decked-up with 23k edible gold and imagine the garnish; you will know that it has adhered to the purpose of a garnish. The sundae is garnished with the extra-bitter Italian Amedei Porceleana and the gourmet Chuao Chocolate; candied fruits from Paris; truffles, Marzipan cherries and gold dragets.

We all do love ice cream for sure! But not every ice cream we love is affordable like this $1,000 ice cream sundae called the Grand Opulence Sundae from Serendipity of New York City. Apparently this ice cream is the “world’s most expensive sundae.”
The opulent sundae is made with five scoops of Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream that has been infused with Madagascar vanilla and topped with a 24K gold leaf treat.
The world's most expensive chocolate called Amedei Porceleana covers the sundae which also has chunks of a rare chocolate called Chuao. The flavor doesn't stop there, and also includes exotic fruits, truffles, Marzipan cherries and salt-free American Golden caviar. This luxurious sundae is enough to make your taste buds go crazy!
The Grand Opulence Sundae. At $1,000, it is considered the most expensive ice cream treat in the world.
It would be impossible to justify eating anything as costly as this.
