Dal (lentil) Makhani (cream/butter) as the name suggests ...
Dal Makhani is a famous North Indian dish. Dal makhani is very rich, creamy, flavorful and mild spicy dal with a typical Punjabi onion-tomato masala. The whole black lentils which are commonly referred to as "Urad dal" in Hindi, are used in making this dish called as Dal Makhani. 
Dal makhani is made from a mix of whole black grams, kidney beans/rajma, and some times chana dal. So it becomes a rich dish as it is made with butter, cream and sometimes yogurt also.
Served with with Roti or Phulkas or naans.
