Pad thai, literally means "Thai style frying," ...
Pad Thai or Phat Thai is a dish of stir-fried noodles, a type of rice noodle, with eggs, fish sauce, tamarind juice, red chili pepper, plus any combination of bean sprouts, shrimp, chicken, or tofu, which is garnished with crushed peanuts, coriander and lime, the juice of which can be added along with Thai condiments (crushed peanuts, garlic, tomato, chives, pickled turnip, coriander, lime, spicy chili oil, chili powder, vinegar, fish sauce, sugar). It is usually served with scallions and pieces of raw banana flower. This dish is typically stir fried in a wok or heavy pan, and in Thailand.
Cooks can make pad thai at home by first soaking rice noodles in warm water. The noodles need to soak for at least 20 minutes so that they will become flexible and a little soft. While the noodles are soaking, the cook start making the sauce.
A Pad Thai sauce is very easy n simple to make. The key to good pad thai sauce is tamarind. A basic sauce mixes tamarind paste, fish sauce, sugar, lime juice, chilies or chilly sauce, and a pinch of salt. The cook can also add soy sauce for a hint of darker color and flavor. Even cashews or peanuts are dry roasted in the wok to dress the dish.
Pad Thai noodles are becoming very popular around the world also.
